Avengers: This film definitely isn’t for those that want

Avengers: Age of Ultron is your typical superhero fantasy film, there’s not much to it. While it does have some interesting aspects, there’s not really much here to get excited about, especially considering that it’s the sequel with mainly the same characters as the previous film. There is nothing wrong with the film itself, however Avengers: Age of Ultron doesn’t really break any boundaries. It’s nothing revolutionary in the film industry, nor the fantasy genre. It has a very basic storyline that stays very linear and sticks to a template. While you might see some of your favourite superheroes in this film, there’s nothing to really get excited about. It’s almost exactly what everyone expected.Trying to key into the modern age of superhero movies, Avengers: Age of Ultron uses so called “Artificial Intelligence” to strengthen the plot. This however doesn’t at all strengthen the plot and instead weakens it. The scenarios that unfold because of this artificial intelligence aren’t just out of place for the film, they’re plain dumb. The film tries to oversimplify a very complex topic, and in doing so ruins what could have been an interesting concept for a film to implement. Boring movies aren’t many people’s thing, but when you add in a ton of lasers, and random action and fight scenes, it almost makes up for it. For the average viewer, maybe it does, but if you’re paying attention, the movie doesn’t really have much substance. While it is a fantasy film, it doesn’t. explore true fantasy concepts, and instead just mildly sprinkles buzzwords and concepts that make it sounds sort of ok. Generic superhero films have a place in the world, and this is one of them. Avengers: Age of Ultron isn’t extraordinarily bad, but it isn’t fantastic either. What this film really is for is to fill the superhero film void that a lot of people feel, while the film doesn’t have much substance, the action scenes are enough to get the average audience member pumped up about what they’re watching. This film definitely isn’t for those that want something deeper than shooting lasers into walls though, if you’re looking for that there are much, much better options than this.
